Foundation Committed to Serving the Public with more Osteopathic Health Policy Fellows from the Northwest
As a public charity, the Foundation sees a great benefit to the people of the Northwest by having more Health Policy Fellows that understand our unique challenges with healthcare. This program requires a substantial commitment of both time and finances. We hope our $10,000 reimbursement scholarship will help encourage more applications from the pool of outstanding DOs in our area.
This reimbursement of expenses will be available to any non-sponsored DO from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington completing the Fellowship beginning in 2019. Contact Executive Director David Tate at 503.263.7878 or tate@nwosteo.org for additional information.
The Osteopathic Health Policy Fellowship

The Osteopathic Health Policy Fellowship (OHPF) is a year-long leadership training program designed to give osteopathic physicians the skills they need to analyze, formulate, and implement health policy on the local, state, and national levels with the purpose of increasing access to affordable, quality health care.
The program is sponsored by the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.
The program is designed for practicing or teaching osteopathic physicians who are preparing for leadership roles in the profession and positions of influence in health policy.
Graduates of the program join a cadre of health policy experts from which the community can draw to staff committees and task forces at the federal and state levels, testify on issues relevant to osteopathic medicine/education, and develop policy positions.
